Takeshi Murakami (°1964), English teacher. He has won the Meijin 2001. Japanese champion 1996 and 1998.

Three times world champion (1996, 1998, 2000). Alongside with David Shaman and Brian Rose won his most recent title at the age of 36.

9 DAN player in Japan.

Winner of the EGP Championship 1989 (tied with Karsten Feldborg).

From the 4th to the 7th of august 1997 the then World champion Takeshi Murakami played (and lost) 6 games match against Logistello, the best computer program.
