Makoto Suekuni (°1977).
World champion in 1997 ; finalist both in 2003, 2004 and 2006; 3rd in 2009; 5th in 2008.
World Team Champion in 2003.
Best Meijin: WINNER (1993, 1994, 2003 and 2004)
He is the only player who managed to win the Meijin at least four times.
Best Japanese championship: WINNER (1997)
Best Ouza-sen: 3rd (2011)
9 DAN player in Japan, what he became after winning the 2004 Meijin.
He also became three times Singapore resident champion in 2006, 2008 and 2009.
He is the son of Kazuo Suekuni and won his first major Japanese tournament at the age of 10.
