A Japanese player, considered by many to be the best Othello player ever. 9 DAN player in Japan.
He was the Meijin 1988, 1989, 1990.
He has participated in eight World Championships (1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1995, 2004, 2005 and 2006) ; and has won the title seven times.
He is one of the two players to score 13/13 in the Swiss System (with David Shaman).
