Cambridge Open

Once a city that had many leading players amongst its residents and has been host to The Cambridge Open every year since 1984. This is usually held in February, and is the major international event held in the UK. Since 1986, it forms part of the European Grand Prix. The only player to have won the tournament five times is Imre Leader.
The city also hosts a Regional tournament which in recent years has become part of a Mind Sports Olympiad event and from time to time the British Championships.
